Manually Adding a New Customer to Your Contacts

You can manually add a new customer to your contacts if you haven't yet sent or received a ticket from them.
Important:
Customers are automatically added to your contacts when you send or receive tickets from them. You can click the Search icon on your Customers tab to see if they already exist in your contacts. 
When manually adding a new customer to your contacts, you can enter their contact details, associate them with companies, and more. 

To manually add a new customer to your contacts:

  1. Click Contacts in the side panel.
  2. Click + Add Customer
  3. Add the customer's details:
    • Enter their First Name.
    • Enter their Last Name
    • Enter their Email
    • Add a customer image:
      1. Click + Add under Contact Image.
      2. Click Upload new image
      3. Select a file from your computer and click Open.
  4. (Optional) Associate the customer with a company:
    1. Click + Add Company and select the relevant company.
      Note: You can add their company later if it doesn't exist in your contacts yet. Learn more 
    2. Set the customer's Customer Portal Permissions that determine which tickets they can view and reply to in the Customer Portal:
      Note: The Customer Portal is not yet available in all Wix Answers accounts. Contact us if you would like to add this feature to your account.
      1. Click As set in the Company Page next to the company. 
      2. Select the customer's Customer Portal Permissions:
        • As set in the Company Page: The permissions set in the associated company's Company Page determine which tickets the customer can access in the Customer Portal.
        • Access personal tickets only: The customer can access only their own tickets in the Customer Portal. 
        • Access all company's tickets: The customer can access all the company's tickets in the Customer Portal. This includes tickets submitted by other customers that are associated with the company. 
    3. Repeat these steps to associate more than 1 company with the customer. 
Tip:
To remove an associated company from the customer, hover over the company and click Remove
  1. Enter a Phone Number. Click + Add Another Number to add another phone number to the customer. 
  2. Click Create.
