Costs of Using WhatsApp

When you integrate WhatsApp with your Wix Answers account, you'll be charged fees for the phone line, regular messages, and template messages. All fees are deducted from your Wix Answers account's credits.

Line Fees

Your WhatsApp line has a monthly fee, charged according to the number type and country. Some numbers, such as toll-free phone numbers, cannot be used for WhatsApp. If you use the same line for WhatsApp that you use in your Call Center, there is no additional fee for the line.

Messaging Fees

The fees for sending and receiving WhatsApp messages depend on the message type (regular or template).
Important:
Costs per message are subject to WhatsApp and Wix Answers pricing, which may change from time to time. Currently, the cost per message varies between $0.006-$0.15 (depending on the message type and destination).

The 24-Hour Rule

WhatsApp has a 24-hour rule that limits the types of messages you can send to customers.

According to the rule:
  • You cannot send regular outbound messages to customers unless they have sent you a message in the past 24 hours.
  • You can only send template messages to customers that have not sent you a message in the past 24 hours.

Regular Messaging Fees

A "regular" message is a chat reply to a customer that has sent you a WhatsApp message within the past 24 hours.

Regular messaging fees deduct from your credits for each inbound and outbound message. Currently, the regular messaging flat fee is $0.006125 per message.

Template Messaging Fees

A "template" message is the only type of message you can send to a customer that has not sent you a WhatsApp message within the past 24 hours.

Template message fees are based on the country code of your customer's phone number and the number of messages you send to their location in a calendar month. A regular message fee and service charge are also deducted from your credits with each template message you send.
