Adding a Widget to Your Wix Site

Once you've finished creating your widget, add it to your Wix site so that customers can review your articles and open tickets directly from your site. 
Important:
This article refers to adding a widget to a site created on Wix.com. If your site was not created on Wix, click here.
Before you begin:
To install a widget on your Wix site, your site must be upgraded to a Premium Plan. Learn How
Note:
Currently, adding more than one widget per page is not supported by Wix Answers. 

Adding Your Widget

Follow the steps below to add your widget in its primary language to your website. 

To add a widget to your Wix site:

  1. Copy the widget code from your Wix Answers account:
    1. Log in to your Wix Answers account.
    2. Go to Settings > Support Channels > Widgets.
    3. (If you have more than one widget) Click the widget name and select the relevant widget.
    4. Click Install on your site
    5. Click Copy to clipboard.
  2. In your Wix account, go to Settings in your site's dashboard.
  3. Click the Custom Code tab under Advanced Settings.
  4. Click + Add Custom Code at the top right.
  5. Type <script> </script> under Paste the code snippet here:
  6. Paste the widget code snippet between the <script> </script> tags. See screenshot below:
  1. Enter a name for your custom code in the Name field.
  2. Click Apply.
Note:
Leave All pages - Load code once and Place Code in: Head selected. 
  1. Refresh your live website to view the Wix Answers widget.

Adding Your Widget in a Secondary Language

Before installing a secondary language widget, make sure you enabled the additional language in the Advanced section of your widget settings.

To add a secondary language widget to your Wix site:

  1. Copy the widget code from your Wix Answers account:
    1. Log in to your Wix Answers account.
    2. Go to Settings > Support Channels > Widgets.
    3. (If you have more than one widget) Click the widget name and select the relevant widget.
    4. Click the Advanced section.
    5. Make sure each language you'd like to install is toggled on under Supported Languages.
    6. Click Install on your site
    7. Click Copy to clipboard.
  2. In your Wix account, go to Settings in your site's dashboard.
  3. Click the Custom Code tab under Advanced Settings.
  4. Click + Add Custom Code at the top right.
  5. Type <script> </script> under Paste the code snippet here:
  6. Paste the widget code snippet between the <script> </script> tags. See screenshot below:
  1. Locate 'en' in the code and change it to the 2-letter locale code of the language you'd like your widget to display (e.g. change 'en' to 'es' to display your widget in Spanish).
    Note: If your primary language is not English, edit the abbreviation for your primary language instead.
Country abbreviations:
Click here for a list of 2-letter locale code abbreviations for each language. 
  1. Enter a name for your custom code in the Name field. 
  2. Click Apply.
Note:
Leave All pages - Load code once and Place Code in: Head selected. 
  1. Refresh your live website to view the Wix Answers widget.
