Connecting Your Own Domain to Your Help Center

Give your Wix Answers Help Center a more professional URL by connecting it to your existing company's domain as a subdomain. For example, if your company's domain is mycompany.com your Help Center URL would be help.mycompany.com or any other subdomain you prefer. By default, your Wix Answers Help Center is a subdomain of wixanswers.com so your URL is structured: <mycompany>.wixanswers.com. To connect your Help Center as a subdomain of your existing domain, follow the steps below: ImportantIf your domain was purchased from Wix or connected to Wix via name servers, click here for directions. To connect your own domain:Step 1 | Add the CNAME record in your domain host account Sign in to your domain host account. Navigate to the DNS management section. Locate the CNAME records for the relevant domain: If you already have a CNAME record for the subdomain you're connecting, click the option to edit the existing record.  If you don't already have a CNAME record for the subdomain you're connecting, click the option to add a new CNAME record. Enter the subdomain for your Help Center in the host field (e.g. help in the example: help.yourdomain.com).  Enter hosted.wixanswers.com in the 'Points to' field. Save your DNS changes.Important:It may take up to 24 hours for the DNS change to propagate. The record must be propagated before you can proceed to the next step. Learn more about DNS propagation.Step 2 | Add your new Help Center URL in your Wix Answers account In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Domain & SEO at the top.  Click Connect Domain. Click Next. Enter your Help Center's new URL in the Your domain URL field (e.g. help.yourdomain.com).  Click Check domain status. Note: An error message appears if step 1 isn't completed correctly, or if your DNS record changes haven't propagated yet (may take up to 24 hours).  Click Link Domain.  Click Done.

Changing Your Help Center Template

Wix Answers offers 3 stunning Help Center templates to choose from.To change your Help Center template: In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Design under Design & Content. Click Templates. Select a template. Click Save.Select a template below to learn more:ModernaThis template gives your Help Center a modern feel, displaying a category icon for each category. The article titles or subcategories are displayed on hover.GrandeThis template lets you present your categories and subcategories in a clear and easy-to-read way. The subcategory titles appear under the category titles. If you don't have any subcategories, your first three articles in each category appear.La ListeThis template lets you divide up your content and display it in a list. This is a great option if you don't have a lot of content.

Changing Your Help Center Colors

Give your Help Center a unique look! Customize the colors to reflect your company's brand and style.To change your Help Center colors: In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Colors. Edit the color of your icons, buttons and titles: Click Edit under the first Color icon . Enter the HEX value of the new color.  Edit the color of your header and footer: Click Edit under the second Color icon . Enter the HEX value of the new color.  Click Save. 

Changing Your Help Center's Logo and Favicon

Help customers identify and remember your brand by adding your own custom logo and favicon to your Help Center. Your logo appears at the top left of your Help Center's header and your favicon appears in your browser tabs.To change your logo and favicon: In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Design & Text. Click the Design tab. Click Logo & Favicon. Click the Logo field and: Click Upload new image to select an image from your computer. Enter the URL in the Logo Target URL field.  Click the Favicon field and select an option. Click Upload new image to select an image from your computer. Click Save at the top right. Image specifications:File Formats: We recommend .jpg and .png formats. Image Sizes:  Logo: 100 X 200 px, Favicon: 50 X 100 px

Editing the Titles and Text of Your Help Center Pages

Customize the text that appears on your Help Center to match your tone and voice. You can edit the titles, search field text, contact button text and more. Preview your changes to the right to see where each text exists and how it will look on your Help Center.  To edit the titles and text: In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Content. Select the language you'd like to edit. Edit the titles and text that appear in your Help Center:HeaderHeader Title: This text appears at the top of your Help Center, in the main menu bar (next to your logo if you have one). Main SectionTitle: This text appears in the header of your Help Center.Subtitle: This text appears in the header of your Help Center, under the Title text.Note: This text does not appear in the mobile view of your Help Center.Search field text: This text appears in the search bar and disappears when customers enter their search text.Featured Articles Section Featured Articles Title: This is the heading text that appears above the list of featured articles on your Help Center's homepage.  Note: Click Manage to select the feature articles.Contact SectionContact title: This title appears first in your Contact Section. Contact subtitle: This subtitle appears after the title in your Contact Section.Contact us button text: This text appears on the Contact Us button. Note: Click Edit next to Linked to Wix Answers Contact Form to go to your Tickets Settings where you can edit your Wix Answers Contact Form. Edit Additional TextClick Edit Additional Text to edit various text that appears throughout your Help Center.5.  Click Save.

Changing Your Help Center's Background Image

Add a personal touch to your Help Center by changing the background image. To change the background image: In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Design. Click Images. Select the image you want to update: Desktop Background Image: This is the background image for your Help Center on desktop. Mobile Background Image: This is the background image for your Help Center on mobile. Social Sharing Image: This is the image that appears when someone shares your Help Center content on Facebook or any other social channel. Click Upload new image to select an image from your computer. Click Save.Recommended image sizes:Desktop: 1920 x 430 px (minimum) or any larger images with this aspect ratio.Mobile: 420 x 170 px. 

Changing Your Category Icons

Personalize your Help Center design by adding your own custom category icons. You can choose from hundreds of free icons offered by Wix Answers or upload an icon from your computer.Note:Category icons do not display if you're using the Grande or La Liste template.To change your category icons: Hover over the Knowledge Base icon in the side panel and click Categories. Select a category on the left. Hover over the category icon next to the category name at the top.Select an option:Upload new image Click Upload.Select the image file from your computer.Click Open.Stock IconSearch the icons using the search bar or the scroll menu. Select the icon you want to add.Click Select.Remove image

Customizing Your Help Center's Header

Show your personality by customizing your Help Center's header. Your header appears on every page of your Help Center and is one of the first things a customer sees when entering your Help Center. Wix Answers lets you customize the basic elements of your header with just a few clicks. Or, you can create your own header from scratch using HTML code.To customize your header:Change your header colors In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Design & Text. Click Colors. Click Edit under the second Color icon . Select a new color or enter the HEX value of the new color.  Click Save.Note: This change also affects the footer.Change your header text In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Design & Text. Click the Text tab. Select a language. Edit the text in the Header title field. Click Save. (If applicable) Update the text for additional languages: Click the Back arrow to go back to the language list. Select the next language and edit the relevant text. Change your logo image In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Design & Text. Click the Design tab. Click Logo & Favicon. Click the Logo field and: Click Upload new image to select an image from your computer. Customizing Your Help Center's Footer

While your Help Center's footer may be less noticeable than its header, it is no less important. Usually customers see your footer after reading the content of the page and therefore it's a great place to offer the next step. For example, offering a way for your customers to contact you if they still need help. Wix Answers lets you customize the basic elements of your footer with just a few clicks. Or, you can create your own footer from scratch using HTML code.To customize your footer:Change your footer colors In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center.  Click Design & Text. Click Colors. Click Edit under the second Color icon . Select a new color or enter the HEX value of the new color.  Click Save.Note: This change also affect the header.Change your footer text In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click Design & Text. Click the Text tab. Select a language. Edit the text under Contact Section. Click Save. (If applicable) Update the text for additional languages: Click the Back arrow to go back to the language list. Select the next language and edit the relevant text. Note: This text only appears when the Contact Section is enabled (see below).Enable or Disable the Contact Section In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click the Tickets tab at the top. Click the toggle next to Help Center Footer to enable or disable this option: Enabled: The Contact Section appears in the footer of your Help Center pages. Disabled: The Contact Section does not appear in the footer. Click Save.To use your own footer: In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click the Advanced tab at the top.  Scroll down to the Custom Code section. Click Edit next to Custom Header & Footer. Select a language. Select Custom Footer. Enter the HTML code of your footer. Click Save. (If applicable) Repeat steps 5 - 8 for each language. Click Done. 

Adding Custom Scripts to Your Help Center

Use custom scripts to change the way your Help Center looks and behaves.To add custom scripts to your Help Center: In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Help Center. Click the Advanced tab at the top. Scroll down to the Custom Code section. Click Edit next to Custom Scripts & CSS.Enter your scripts in the Custom Scripts field.Click Save.

Adding Custom CSS to Your Help Center

Wix Answers gives you the design tools you need to customize the look and feel of your Help Center. You can change the logo, add a background image and switch the color. Click the Advanced tab at the top. Scroll down to the Custom Code section. Connecting Your Domain Managed by Wix

Connect your company's existing domain to your Wix Answers Help Center for a more professional looking URL. For example, your Help Center's URL could be help.mycompany.com if your current domain were mycompany.com.Important:If your domain isn't connected to Wix via name servers, your domain host controls your CNAME records and you must edit your DNS records with them. Click here for instructions. Step 1 | Add the CNAME Record in Your Wix Account Sign in to your Wix account.  Go to the Domains page. Click the Show More icon  next to the relevant domain and select Manage DNS Records. Click the Advanced tab. Click Edit DNS. Scroll to the CNAME (Aliases) section and add or edit a CNAME record: Add CNAME: If you do not already have a CNAME record for the subdomain you're connecting, click + Add Record.  Edit CNAME: If you already have a CNAME record for the subdomain you're connecting, hover over the record and click Edit.  Enter the subdomain for your Help Center in the Host Name field (e.g. help in the example: help.yourdomain.com). Type hosted.wixanswers.com in the Value field. Note: Leave the TTL set to 1 Hour and disregard the value shown in Wix Answers. Click Save.Important:It may take up to 24 hours for the DNS change to propagate. The record must be propagated before you can proceed to the next step. Request: Changing the Font of Your Knowledge Base

Currently, it is not possible to change the font of your Knowledge Base using the settings in your Wix Answers account. However, it is possible to use CSS to change the font using custom head code and/or CSS. Custom head code and CSS are Premium features.
