Formatting Text in Articles

Most of your text's formatting is defined in the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), although you can add bold or italics from the Text Toolbar. You can also change the text type (e.g. regular text to list-formatted), link to other articles or web addresses, insert inline images, and add comments.

To format text in an article:

  1. Go to the Content Editor of the relevant article.
  2. Highlight the text you'd like to format.
  3. Select an option from the Text Toolbar:
    • Bold: Click the Bold icon to make your text bold (or press Ctrl + B).
    • Italics: Click the Italics icon to italicize your text (or press Ctrl + I).
    • Link: Click the Link icon to hyperlink your text. Paste the URL of the link or search for an article and select it, then click Insert Link
    • Bullets: Click the Bullets icon to change your text into a bulleted list.
    • Numbers: Click the Numbers icon to change your text into a numbered list.
    • Image: Click the Image icon to add an inline image, then select an option:
      • Upload image: Click Upload New Image, select a file from your computer and click Open. Then click Update.
      • Paste image URL: Paste the URL of an image in the Image Link field and click Update.
    • Comment: Click the Comment icon  to add a comment, then enter your comment and click Add. Learn More
Tips:
  • Press Tab on your keyboard to indent bulleted or numbered text and press Shift + Tab to remove indentation.
  • We recommend adding images as separate content blocks. Use the inline images method in the text toolbar to add icons to lines of text, or add images within collapsible blocks.
Important:
If you experience issues with text that's been copied and pasted from an external source, try removing the formatting
