Connecting Your Own Outgoing Email Domain

Send ticket replies and other outgoing emails from your own personal domain. For example, you could send replies from support@yourdomain.com instead of the default address (notifications@wixanswers.com). 

Start by adding your outgoing domain to your Wix Answers account, then configure your DNS records with your domain host. 
Tip:
Learn which email addresses are used for sending in various mailbox configurations. 
Important:
To set up an outgoing custom domain, you must be an administrator or have a custom role with Mailboxes enabled in the Settings - Support Channels permissions. 

To connect a domain to use for outgoing emails:

  1. In the Wix Answers app, go to Settings > Support Channels > Email.
  1. Click Change next to Your emails are currently being sent from notifications@wixanswers.com.
    Note: Click + Add domain if you've already added an outgoing email domain. 
  1. Enter the domain you want to use for outgoing emails and click Next.
  1. Update the CNAME records in your domain host account: 
    1. Log in to your domain host account and locate the DNS records. 
    2. Add the provided CNAME records in your domain host account.
  2. Click Connect Domain.
    Note: It may take up to 24 hours for the records to update.
  3. Choose what you want to do next:
    • Done: Click Done to close the window. 
    • Check Status: Click Check Status to recheck the status of your domain connection. 
    • Disconnect: Click Disconnect if you want to disconnect the domain and remove it from your Outgoing Email Domains section. Then click Yes, Disconnect to confirm. 
  4. (Optional) Click + Add domain to add another outgoing email domain and repeat steps 3-6 above.  
Additional actions:
Click the Show More icon undefined next to the relevant domain and choose from the following options: 
  • Edit: Change the connected domain, view its DNS records, or disconnect the domain. 
  • Check status: (If not connected) Recheck the domain's connection to Wix Answers. 
  • Set as primary: Set as your primary domain for sending emails. 
  • Delete: Remove the domain from your outgoing email domains section.
